I am about to make some sloe gin (some now so it is ready for Christmas and some in a month or two after the first frost for improved flavour). I am happy that I know how to make this, but was wondering if anyone has any other recipes for fruit spirits using gin, vodka or even brandy. What fruit can I use and is it ok to use bags of frozen berries or should they be fresh?Sloe gin and other fruit spirit recipes?
Use fresh.
Try blackberry vodka.
Or get some vodka in a big jar you can screw a tot on. Add a whole chopped up orange and some plumbs whole, add some dried abricots and seal. Leave for about 3 months add sugar to taste and eat the fruit and drink the sweet liquid. (by the way chuck out the orange peel).Sloe gin and other fruit spirit recipes?
